Charlotte City Council Greenlights New Entertainment Venue Next to Bank of America Stadium 🎶🏙️

Big news for Charlotte’s entertainment scene — the Charlotte City Council has officially approved plans for a brand-new, 4,400-seat entertainment venue right next to Bank of America Stadium. The project will be developed and privately funded by Tepper Sports & Entertainment (TSE) — the same team behind the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC.

The new venue will sit near the North Gate of Bank of America Stadium, adding a mid-sized performance space to the city’s growing lineup of entertainment options. Designed to host 80 to 120 shows each year, it’s expected to bridge the gap between smaller local venues and large arenas like the Spectrum Center.

With concerts, events, and live performances on deck, this addition will bring more opportunities for locals and visitors to enjoy world-class entertainment right in Uptown Charlotte.

A Boost for the Queen City

Beyond the excitement of more shows, this project marks another major investment in Charlotte’s growth as a regional entertainment hub. City leaders say it will enhance the area’s sports and cultural infrastructure, create new jobs, and drive more traffic to nearby restaurants, bars, and hotels.

As part of the agreement, Tepper Sports & Entertainment will:

• Pay $500,000 in annual rent for the land.

• Keep the Panthers in Charlotte for at least 20 more years under a revised lease.

• Allow the city five days of use each year for community events.

Even if the Panthers ever left Charlotte, the venue would continue operating as a standalone entertainment destination — a win for the community no matter what.

Construction is expected to begin soon, with more project details to be announced in the coming months. Once complete, this new addition will give Charlotte residents another reason to love — and stay entertained in — the Queen City.
